This is the rarest of all COMEX Submariners; the sapphire glass 16800 with the matt dial. Case number 72769XX, COMEX number 60XX, dating to 1982.
It is assumed that there were less than 25 of these made, the second batch was not made until 1987, by which time the gloss dial with white gold indices had arrived.
